- Acupuncture
- This ancient art focuses on balancing the energy of the body
known as Qi (pronounced chee) through diet, exercise meditation,
proper breathing and stimulation of acupoints. Acupuncture can
be used for a variety of conditions including: pain control, fatigue,
insomnia, addictions, allergies, and general health promotion.
Acupuncture can be performed with or without needles using laser
and/or electric stimulation.
- Applied Kinesiology
- AK is a systematic approach to patient evaluation and treatment
that utilizes muscle testing. AK evaluation provides neurological
information that cannot be obtained from a standard history and
physical and helps the doctor to make appropriate treatment recommendations.
- Children's Health
- We live in a society where repeated childhood ear infections
are common and energetic children are given Ritalin. These and
many other common problems affecting our children can be managed
via natural methods. Before you subject your child to the damaging
effects of antibiotics and/or behavior modification drugs, check
with us to see if there is a more natural solution.
- Chinese Herbal Medicine
- Chinese herbal medicine and acupuncture go hand in hand. We
have an extensive supply of compounded Chinese herbs available
and the expertise to make appropriate recommendations.
- Chiropractic
- A system within natural health care that promotes health by
reducing stress on the nervous system through adjustment of the
spine and the contiguous muscles and ligaments of the spine. Joints
of the hand, wrist, elbow, shoulder, foot, ankle, knee, hip and
jaw may also benefit from chiropractic adjustments. Chiropractic
care can be delivered in a gentle way, providing safe effective
treatment of low back, neck and thoracic pain. It is also the
treatment of choice for headache and TMJ symptoms. Chiropractic
often uses nutritional considerations, exercise, breathing techniques,
and myofascial release in order to balance the mind, body and
spirit. Patients who have received chiropractic care recognize
the overall health benefits of such care.
- Craniosacral Therapy
- The craniosacral modality is grounded in certain anatomical,
physiological and therapeutic observations. To utilize craniosacral
therapy in diagnosis and treatment requires a particular point
of view shared by many of the healing philosophies: that of seeing
the individual as an integrated totality. Attention is directed
to the rate, amplitude, symmetry and quality of the craniosacral
motion and its reflection throughout the body. The practitioner
uses their hands gently and skillfully to support the cranium
and sacrum. The client is fully clothed for this work.
- Massage Therapy
- Promotes healing and relaxation through improved circulation
and reduced muscle tension. Our Doctors and therapists are skilled
practitioners of several types of massage and soft-tissue modalities:
Myofascial Release Therapy, Deep Tissue, Trigger
point therapy, Neuromuscular Re-education and Postural
Integration. This body work is a necessary adjunct treatment
for neuromuscular trauma, sprains, strains, sports injuries, post
surgical rehabilitation, whiplash, or Post Traumatic Syndrome.
Our therapists can work as light or as deep as you like to create
the health benefits that you desire.
- Mindful Movement
- A gentle blend of low impact aerobic work, Qi Gong, Tai Chi,
Hakomi mindfulness and Feldenkrais movement. Sessions are available
for group encounters, retreats, Senior Citizen support groups
and individuals. No fancy clothing or exercise equipment is needed
and the work can be modified for the chair- and wheelchair-bound.
This work is especially helpful to individuals with Chronic Pain
Syndromes, Fibromyalgia, Arthritis, and challenges due to extra
weight to size of frame.
- Nutritional Counseling
- 8 out of 10 causes of death in our society are nutritional related
and yet only 29 of America's 130 medical schools have a required
course in nutrition. At Aspen Center for Integrative Healing,
our doctors have advanced training in nutrition and Functional
medicine. Evaluation, extensive history, laboratory findings and
many other tools are used to make careful individualized recommendations
for your condition. A plan is proposed and tracking tools are
used to manage progress and expectations.
- Reiki
- A hands-on energy balancing technique. During the Reiki treatment,
the practitioner places their hands on specific points on the
client's body. A feeling of deep relaxation, peace and wholeness
are usually experienced during and after the treatment. Reiki
is easy to learn and using a process known as "attunement", a
Reiki Master enables a student to begin channeling the Reiki energy
through their hands. Reiki Training is available through Aspen
Center for Integrative Healing.
- SCENAR Therapy
- More information coming soon!
- Sotai
- Sotai therapy is of Japanese origin. The practitioner guides
the client through specific exercise that facilitates muscular
relaxation by harmonizing breathing and movement. All movements
are made within the natural range of motion for any given joint
and the patient learns an "internal sensitivity" to comfort and
ease as well as discomfort and pain. Sotai is often compared to
simple stretching exercises and Yoga, but its unique feature lies
in being movement performed in the direction away from discomfort
and pain.
- Women's Health
- Many women want natural alternatives to hormone replacement
therapy -- especially those who are concerned about breast cancer.
We offer advice on natural alternatives as well as state of the
art non-invasive tests to determine the risk of osteoporosis.
Non-invasive tests are also available to screen DHEA, Estradiol,
Progesterone, and other hormone level indicators. Healthy menstruation,
eradication of PMS and smooth transition through menopause are
achievable goals.
